Onyx is one of the world’s most dynamic oil trading companies, and we were selected to support their initial brand development journey. Although a preliminary identity existed, it lacked cohesive guidelines to sustain brand integrity across its expanding operations. Our first objective was to establish a unified branding strategy for Onyx and its subsidiaries, achieved through thoughtful colour theory and cohesive visual elements that strengthened their group identity.
Next, we tackled the design and development of a new website with a custom-built application processing system tailored to attract elite candidates. Drawing inspiration from the rigour of special forces selection, we created a unique, special-ops-inspired concept for the Elite application process, evoking a sense of challenge and exclusivity. This theme, reinforced by a dark, tactical aesthetic, subtly filtered out unqualified applicants and set a high bar for those considering the role.
In collaboration with Onyx’s team of expert analysts, we developed a custom back-end system that provided HR with unparalleled control and efficiency. The platform's design automated much of the candidate sorting, significantly reducing administrative load and ensuring only top-tier candidates advanced in the process. Each stage allowed applicants to self-select specific criteria, while the system intelligently scored responses to streamline the progression of ideal candidates.
This project was one of the most complex and tailored solutions we have delivered, achieving exceptional results. The client was thrilled with the final outcome, which translated to measurable savings in both time and resources.
